Gosh what a busy week back year one have had!
We began the week reading ‘Jim and the Beanstalk’ and the children made predictions of what they thought would be at the top of the stalk. On Tuesday the children wrote rhyming strings, followed by the children writing their down dialogues between the Giant and Jim.
In Maths the children consolidated working on their ‘Singapore bar’ method to support addition and subtraction.
This week in French the children have recapped colours and feelings and have begun to learn the alphabet.
In phonics the children have been recapping the ‘High Frequency Words’ and looking at the alternative ways to use the sounds; oo, ue, ew and u_e
A letter for our trip to the Mosque on the 15th March will be going home on Friday. Please let us know if you are available to attend the trip.
It is also world book day next Thursday. Feel free to come as a character from a children’s book and not film.
Have a great weekend everyone!
