Weekly roundup

What a week it has been in year one.

The children continued with their science project and carried out their experiment in the pond area looking at ecosystems. The children will be re-visiting this subject  in the Spring term and they will compare their findings.

This week in Maths the children consolidated the days of the week, moths of the year and used time connective language such as; the next day, yesterday, the day after tomorrow and previously.

In phonics the children are still learning the alternative sounds in Phase 5. Jolly phonics is a great website and Mr Thorne on Youtube (Geraldine the giraffe) has a video for every sound and how it should be pronounced.

Remember that the password and user name for Linguascope is on the classroom door for you children to use at home. The children have been learning to say how they feel this week in French.

Next week in Topic the children will be learning about Florence Nightingale and her role within History and how this impacts us today.

In Maths the children will be reading, counting, recognising numbers within 40.

Have a lovely chilly weekend everyone!
