Did you know that the first bus to be used in London was called an Omnibus and it was pulled by horses and children were paid to sweep up the horse poo.
This week got off to a great start, we headed into central London to check out the amazing Transport Museum. We learnt some very interesting facts about buses and how they have evolved over the years.
In numeracy we have been learning about number bonds to 10. Can you think of any numbers that make 10? Can you teach you parents the number bond rap.
0 and 10 are big strong men,
1 and 9 get along just fine,
2 and 8 are always late.
3 and 7 go to heaven,
4 and 6 are in the mix,
5 and 5 gymnastics jive!
For the next two week we will be continuing to look at addition and subtraction. The objectives we will be looking at in numeracy are as follows:
- Represent and use number bonds to 10
- Add and subtract one digit numbers
- To be able to read and use +, – and = signs
- To be able to solve one step problems that involve addition and subtraction.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
