Gosh! What a busy week year 1! The days are just flying by.
The children have been learning about the life cycles of frogs and butterflies this week.
At the beginning of the week we read the story ‘Tadpoles Promise’. This directed the learning towards life cycles. The children then labeled the changes that they could see. The key word for the children to be using throughout the week when labeling and discussing the changes was ‘metamorphosis’.
After looking closely at frogs the children then learnt about the butterfly life cycle. The children wrote about the cycle in their Literacy books. Please feel free to have a look on Monday.
In maths 1IH used number fans to find the missing numbers when looking at number sequences. They also learnt the language ‘more than’ and ‘less than’. Using verbal reasoning to explain how they knew.
The children had a great time in French PE this week with Mr Weston and the french teacher! They are teaching me a thing or deux!
In the classroom there is a class contact form for you to fill in your details so that you can be kept in touch with. On that note we are still looking for another class contact. Please speak to me if you would be willing to help.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
